I was very pleased to note that I can now see the number of tokens I've used in a conversation, but am not sure how to activate that view. I had OpenAI describe an image for me, and the conversation history shows the following about tokens and messages.
Messages: 1
System prompt length: 2343 characters
Draft prompt length: 0 characters
Total input tokens: 0
Total output tokens: 0
Total tokens: 0
The image was a JPEG which was uploaded to the model with a request to describe, and it responded with a description. Shouldn't this be two messages? Also, surely it took up some tokens? It wasn't important so I used an older model, but it did take up some, didn't it?
