Broken text on screen if battery is too-low-to-boot ArkOS

Hi again :)

My R36S battery just died.
Which I found out by putting in the original firmware SD-card, which had a nice image displayed, saying: "battery too low - in chinese too" cool.

**Would it be possible to have the same thing on your distro? ❤️ **

Currently, I had a scrambled-pixel text output in black/white stripes on my display.
I could decipher some text saying voltage.

Which gave me a hint!

Stock firmware is some ArkOS dated 2024.
Don't have the original SD-card at hand at the moment.

Is it possible for you to create an image of that build without all the games? There must be a uboot update with this that made this possible.

So you'd like a copy of the original firmware (OS, not the ROMs) to check how they did it?

i have a image of the same stock arkos on original sd card genuine r36s, if you still need it

Sorry, I haven't found the time yet to shrink the original image...
What's the quickest way to extract what you need from the 50 GB SD-card image?

Would a dd if=r36s_stock.img of=smaller.img bs=4M count=? suffice?
(I know that would produce a probably "corrupt" partition, but maybe it'd be enough for you to extract the uboot data you are looking for?)

...or: I'll try to mount -o loop the image, delete all the ROMs; save - and then upload?

UPDATE: Won't work, as the img file can only be mounted read-only, it seems.
