CodeCart User Manual (v2.0)

English | 简体中文 | 繁體中文 | 日本語

What CodeCart is

CodeCart is a memory wallet for AI. It keeps small "memory cards" about you and carries them into any AI chat with one copy-paste, so every AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, local models — knows you from the first message. It runs 100% offline in your browser: no account, no server, no install.

First run (1 minute)

Open codecart.tech (or the HTML file itself). A short wizard asks four optional questions — how AI should address you, what you're focused on, how you like answers, and your hard rules. Answer any of them and your starter deck is ready. You can skip it and add cards later with .

The daily loop — just two buttons

  1. Carry memory · start chatting — copies your active cards plus a short instruction for the AI. Paste it as your first message in any AI chat, then talk as usual.
  2. Paste AI reply · save — after chatting, paste the AI's whole reply here. CodeCart finds the memory block the AI appended, previews the changes, and on confirm: new cards are added, outdated cards are archived automatically.

That's the entire workflow. You never write memory by hand — the AI is the scribe, CodeCart is the wallet.

Card types

  • Preference — how you like answers (tone, length, format).
  • About me — stable facts (name, work, background).
  • Right now — current focus; expected to change and get superseded.
  • Hard rule — things AI must never do (budget limits, taboos).

Managing cards

Hover a card to edit, archive (keep history, stop carrying it) or delete. The Archived filter shows superseded history. The token counter in the header shows the real size of what you carry.

Backup, devices & privacy

Everything lives only in this browser's local storage. In ⚙ Data & settings:

  • Export — download the wallet as a single JSON file. That file is your backup and your property.
  • Import — merge a wallet file (duplicates are skipped).
  • Transfer link — copies a link with your data encoded after the #; open it on another device to merge. The data never touches a server.
  • Erase — wipe this device.

Tip: clearing browser site-data also erases the wallet — export a backup occasionally.

Troubleshooting

  • "No memory block found" — the AI didn't append a codecart block. Some replies genuinely contain nothing worth remembering; otherwise re-carry your memory (step 1) so the instruction is fresh in the conversation.
  • Wrong language? — use the language selector in the header; the choice is remembered.
