no docker command

i have no idea why, whenever i wanna try the terminal, it states that docker command not found?

Mac Mini M4, v26.5.2. previously use orb stack but deleted it and now install dory. am i supposed to install the docker seperately? not right? am i missing anything here. i am wack in server things. guide me if necessary. eager to use dory! haha thanks in advance

You are running the docker command in a linux machine. You only need the linux machine when trying to do some work with linux. Once dory starts, open any terminal on your mac and run the docker commands. It would go through dory automatically. @loonfly

i see! any idea why the "docker" command doesn't work? dory running. i feel like i am missing something here.

@Augani also facing this issue. i was orbstack user. i removed orbstack. and installed dory. now docker command not found in every terminal. macos 27 beta

There is no docker cli running. Will soon release a new update and should be fine even if you don't have a docker cli

I'll leave my comment here to follow the thread. I'm having the same problem: after uninstalling Docker Desktop and installing Dory, it doesn't recognize the docker command

Workaround:

I also went from Docker Desktop to Dory. After uninstalling Docker Desktop I also had no docker command in my mac terminal.

So I just installed a docker-client (nix or probably just the docker homebrew would do) and having looked at the dory code to see where it wrote its docker sock, I did this:
docker context create dory --description "dory" --docker "host=unix:///Users/<username>/.dory/dory.sock"
and docker context use dory to switch to use dory.

Everything went swimmingly after that.
