Comment boosts not showing as comments

Quick summary

I have a comment listed in the comments WordPress screen as approved. On mastodon.social it is a comment boost. I can't get it to show up on the front end.

The comment arrives as a "Response" and shows as a repost when it kind of seems like it should show as a comment. I think the issue is that comment boosts sits in a bit of gray area - is it a comment or a boost?

Steps to reproduce

1. Comment arrives as "Response" type
2. Hmm... that's not showing up as a comment, just a repost icon

I am not sure I understand the issue!? The account @digitalfootprints boosted your post and now this boost shows up as a "repost" under you article.

That looks like everything works like expected!?

A boost has no content, so the only thing the plugin could do, is to show it as a comment that says: "XYZ has boosted this post"!?

That boost was a boost with a comment (a relatively new Mastodon feature). So it does have content.

This is actually the expected behavior. We decided to not show the comment/quote, but only a facepile. We tried to be consistent with Mastodon, that also "only" shows a 1 quote and not the actual quote as comment to the post.
