--source and --branch should not be mandatory. It's perfectly fine to create an SWA without github integration.

So the rest api call works, you only need to supply the repositoryUrl with a null value. it should not be required in my opinion.
as workaround you could call az rest, for example:

So the real issue is that the properties field should be there, but may be empty:
