Azure CLI Failing PIP with error on Extension installation

Describe the bug

I am having issues installing the ML extension for the Azure CLI.

az extension add -n ml

I get the error detailed below.

cli.azure.cli.core.azclierror: An error occurred. Pip failed with status code 1. Use --debug for more information.
az_command_data_logger: An error occurred. Pip failed with status code 1. Use --debug for more information.

So far I have made sure the Azure CLI is fully up to date. I have checked to make sure that my pip version is fully up to date. I have also then removed the Azure CLI and reinstalled it. None of which is fixing the issue

I see is finally available a distribution for azureml-core and now is possible successfully install azure-ml-cli:

az extension add --name azure-cli-ml

I can close the ticket now.

Solution 1 just states that the extension has now installed but no detailed fix that I can see.

Solution 2 give the error below

An error occurred. Pip failed with status code 1. Use --debug for more information.

Edit: I have also tried other extensions (devops and webapp) both of which fail also

There is an error with checkum - "The checksum of the extension does not match the expected value." for the version ml-2.36.1. This shows up after running script with debug option.

@AllyW / @jsntcy can you provide me an update on this. I am supposed to be assigned to a customer since 2 weeks ago but I have not been able to carry out any of the testing I need as this is blocking me. Even if it is a simple work around that would be great.
