Hardware Feature Request: USB 3 chip

It would be great to get faster speeds on the USB side of the SDWireC. Is this planned as a future update?

Hi @moqmar , we are currently working on a design of a new version that utilizes GL3231S which is a USB3 UHS-II capable media chip.

This will of course will require some changes in regard of shape of the board. We are aiming to release the new version by the end of this summer at the latest.

Please raise your concerns if you have any or maybe features that you would like to see added. Thank you for your interest on the project

Thank you for the quick reply back in March, I'm really looking forward to the new version! Is the release still planned for the next months? We are considering whether to wait to order a few of the new version.

@moqmar still not ready for production we are expecting to have prototype run number 3 to arrive this friday, we need to do the tests and then according to results we may need another prototyping run so I cant really promise a date for it

Hello @timothytrippel yes sdwire3 is the early version of this and now available for sale, I will be sharing the repo publicly and close this issue when it is available in github. It is expected to go public on November, 2025.

Hi, any updates on this? I saw a link at https://github.com/Badger-Embedded/SDWire3 but I got 404 so I guess that repo is still private?
