Describe the feature you'd like
In most books I have on BookStack, I find it more useful to have chapters expanded rather than collapsed. This gives me a better overview of the structure of the book. I can see that people will want to stick to the current behaviour, so my suggestion is to include a configuration option (ideally as as a site-wide default and per-book override) to specify whether chapters should be expanded or collapsed by default.
Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users
I think this improves the ability to quickly glance over the entire outline of a book rather than “hide” the chapter contents.
Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?
By manually opening all chapters every time the book outline is loaded.
Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?
How long have you been using BookStack?
1 to 5 years
