When shortening the word "coefficient", should we use "coef" or "coeff"?
I can't remember why I chose "coef" for all the things I added for PD_BACKGROUND, but maybe I looked at core and copied something there?
I don't really care the spelling, but it should be consistent amongst the data names and the definitions.
There are some inconsistencies in the text @nautolycus has circulated for VolG chp 4.6 wrt definition spelling in the pdf vs dictionary.
