If I open Solution Explorer and then click on Git Changes, and then click on Git Changes again, it still shows Explorer open. It would be better if opening one automatically closed the other.

Right now, each button just acts as a toggle for its specific tool window - clicking it once will show the window, clicking it again will hide the window.

What you want is clicking any button automatically hides the other configured windows, and only shows the current one?
