Font size change

Hello, I really love the plugin but I struggle with the Inability to change the font size for the buttons.
From what I can see the option is fully ignored/disabled when we set them up and are hardcoded in the manifest? Can we get option to modify each size?

Even when I replaced the default icons, where the docker logo made them even more unreadable, did not help much.

From memory there was a technical reason why the font size could not be changed easily, but I don’t remember the exact limitation right now. I’ll take another look at the code to see if it’s possible to expose that as a configurable option.

Regarding the icons, I understand what you mean. The default Docker logo can make the text harder to read depending on the background, especially if the font size is fixed. I’ll also check if there’s a better way to handle the text rendering on top of custom icons.

I managed to get the custom text + font size to work just fine so far.

About the icons, I planned to make some different one that still had the docker logo, but reading their guide lines for dont's my idea wont work :D
Why not just create the icons to be without it, like how I modified them in my PR?

Hey 👋

I originally kept the Docker logo so it’s easier to identify the type of action at a glance.
For example, you could have a project and a container with the same name, so the icon helps differentiate them.

That said, using simple red/green icons like the ones in your screenshot could also work well — I’m not sure yet which approach is actually better.

I think I also remember why I disabled the font size option originally. It was related to the automatic title generation from the container name, if I recall correctly.

I’ll test the text changes on my side and let you know.

I'll keep the issue open for now so we can continue discussing the button icon design.

Few ideas that can work, to make it obvious its for this plugin could maybe be:

1. Add border all around and make it the main docker color, where the inside is green/red
2. Add at the top/bottom label to indicate its for docker (or use the logo on corner?
3. First option but flip around the colors, where red/green is the border and the inside is docker color
4. Misc of 1/3 and 2

I'm not too sure if the sizes have to be 144x144 or we can work in bigger resolutions, since fitting all the ideas will be hard to not make it look pixelated.

I haven’t forgotten about this issue — I’m just a bit busy at the moment.

I’ll take some time to properly look at your proposal. I still need to think a bit about the icon format and size constraints, especially since everything needs to remain readable at the Stream Deck resolution.

I took a quick look at your proposal and I think a simpler approach might work better for readability on the Stream Deck. What I’m considering is:

• Keeping a thin top bar to indicate the state:
  • #3fb950 for running
  • #f85149 for stopped
• Adding a small label at the top with “Docker”

This would keep the design minimal and more readable at 144×144, while still clearly showing both the context and the state.

What do you think about this approach?

a colored top bar depending on the container/state
green for running
red for stopped/error
blue for summary/status buttons
