stock: always generates network traffic

Device: GeekMagic SmallTV-PRO
Firmware: V3.4.82EN

I have my stock app set to:

• refresh data every 3600 seconds
• loop through symbols
• K-line interval set to 1w(eek)

Packet capturing shows the device keeps hitting Yahoo every seven seconds regardless of my refresh data setting to get the next symbol.

Is it possible to change the behaviour of the app to cache the response from Yahoo for the time specified by my refresh data period configuration (eg. for an hour)?

As stock markets are only open ~24% of hours per week, it just is wasting resources polling 80% on closed market for a free service.
