Issue Report: Responsive Mobile Navigation
Problem Description
On mobile devices (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro Max), the navigation links "How It Works", "Portals", and "About" were hidden from the header to prevent layout overflow. However, there was no alternative navigation mechanism (like a hamburger menu) provided, making these pages inaccessible to mobile users.
Additionally, on the home page, the "Challenges" link remained visible but cluttered the small screen space alongside the logo and GitHub icon.
Solution Implemented
A modern, responsive mobile navigation system has been implemented to resolve these accessibility and UX issues.
1. Hamburger Menu Button
Added a sleek toggle button in the header, visible only on small screens (sm:hidden). This provides a clear entry point for mobile navigation.
2. Mobile Menu Overlay
Implemented a full-screen navigation overlay that slides in from the right.
- Design: Uses a dark theme (
bg-bg-primary/95) with a high-quality blur effect (backdrop-blur-2xl) to match the platform's premium aesthetic.
- Content: Includes all navigation links (Home, Challenges, How It Works, Portals, About).
- Refined Styling: The font size was adjusted to
text-lg font-semibold for better readability and a cleaner look on mobile.
3. Smart Visibility
- Home Page: The "Challenges" link is now hidden from the main mobile navbar (
hidden sm:inline-flex) and moved into the hamburger menu, reducing clutter.
- GitHub Link: The GitHub link text is hidden on mobile while keeping the icon visible in the main navbar for quick access. It was also removed from the hamburger menu to avoid redundancy.
4. Interactive UX
- Added JavaScript to handle smooth opening/closing of the menu.
- Implemented body scroll locking when the menu is active.
- Added auto-close behavior when a navigation link (including anchor links like
#challenges) is clicked.
