Meeting Minutes

The Patterns 2.0 project team met to finalise the cross-cutting topics taxonomy and agree next steps for implementation. Three changes were made to the working list: Observability added as a new topic, Data Management renamed to Data and Networking, and Regulatory and Compliance retained for future regulatory alignment. The team also discussed how to action the new categorisation and agreed the immediate priority is to restructure the existing patterns site against the approved categories, with only minor visual improvements, to produce a reviewable artefact for the next meeting. A consensus motion for approval of the recategorisation closes tomorrow.

• Multiple approaches to implementation discussed

• Data Management renamed to Data and Networking to reflect patterns covering transmission, compression, and network efficiency
• Regulatory and Compliance retained following Juan's argument linking patterns to mandatory EU frameworks (CSRD, EU AI Act, eco-design) and the SCI self-certification programme

Pattern ID and maturity model:

• Juan proposed unique identifiers per pattern to enable maturity-level tracking and recommendations
• Russ noted related prior work by Aviva using patterns as an assessment tool; link to be shared
• Concept well-received as a future direction
