Total budget limit can be smaller than category budget limit

Total budget should more than category budget. But now these two things are separate but budget count for total is together, which means this budget system is not that useful now.

While we agree with your perspective, BudgetBuddy is designed to leave individual budget allocations entirely at the user’s discretion. Our main goal is to streamline expense tracking, so enforcing that the total of all budgets must remain below the Overall Budget would create unnecessary inconvenience. Accordingly, we’ve chosen to treat the Overall Budget simply as a general account for every expense, including those without specific categories. Users can then decide for themselves whether to keep the Overall Budget higher than the combined total of all other budgets.
