The JSON data for John Gill's commentary has some errors in how his writings are aligned by verse.
Taking Matthew chapter 13 as an example...
Comparing:
https://bible.helloao.org/api/c/john-gill/MAT/13.json
vs
https://sacred-texts.com/bib/cmt/gill/mat013.htm
Issues found in AO Lab JSON:
- Gill's comments on verse 1 are under "introduction" rather than verse 1
- verse 9 contains Gill's comments for both verses 9 & 10
- Subsequent verses are off by 1 (verse 10 is actually Gill's comments on verse 11, etc.)
- verse 17 contains Gill's comments for verses 18 & 19
- Subsequent verses are now off by 2
- verse 48 contains Gill's comments for verses 50 and 51
- Subsequent verses are now off by 3
I saw a similar problem in Matthew 18 as well, so I suspect the issue may be found elsewhere, but I haven't researched other chapters yet.
Thanks in advance!
