Feature Proposal: Social Network Image Provenance Verification #22

Hello! 👋

ImageForensicsOSN looks like excellent forensic analysis work for social network images.

I'd like to introduce SiliconSignature (repo | demo), our hardware-bound image authentication system.

Why this fits:
Your tool analyzes images from social networks for manipulation. SiliconSignature could watermark images before they reach social networks — creating a provenance chain:

  1. Camera/device embeds SiliconSignature watermark
  2. Image uploaded to OSN
  3. Your forensic tool verifies the watermark
  4. If missing/invalid = potential manipulation

What we offer:

  • 🔏 ASIC-bound proof-of-work
  • 🛡️ Reed-Solomon survives compression (social networks compress heavily!)
  • 💻 Pure Python, MIT license

Collaboration idea:
Benchmark your forensic tool against watermarked vs. non-watermarked social media images.

Interested?

Best,
