Easy to miss the conditions of use on external sites

In the meeting @Kakioka-JMA mentioned about the HAPI server.
There is a link "Server citation" in the HAPI data service https://hapi-server.org/servers/#server=INTERMAGNET,
which directs to INTERMAGNET Data - conditions of use.

Also there is a link to the same INTERMAGNET page in the VirES manual.
You can find it by searching the page
https://viresclient.readthedocs.io/en/latest/available_parameters.html
with the keyword "INTERMAGNET".

Perhaps many users are careful enough to go to the INTERMAGNET page
and read through all the conditions. But I doubt everyone does so,
because honestly I myself didn't when I first tried downloading INTERMAGNET data from VirES....

This is an interesting remark, this indirected link towards https://intermagnet.org/data_conditions.html from:

• hapi-server.org
• ViresClient read the docs

I can understand that they point to this page because in the past all info of data retrieval was here, we changed it to https://intermagnet.org/data_download.html
I'm not sure but probably the two sites you talk about are maintained by BGS.
Maybe @SimonFlower can look at this.

Looking at the pages that Seiki has referenced, the link to https://intermagnet.org/data_conditions.html looks correct to me – the pages are concerned with licensing or acknowledgement of Intermagnet data which is what this page describes.

Probably I interpreted the mail wrongly,
It is not that the link is wrong it is more about the fact that it is not clear to users that "server citations" will show you the conditions of use for the data you download which are necessary to know before downloading the data.

I'm not sure what to do about this. I think we already put the data conditions into data files that are able to contain them (IAGA-2002 and CDF). We discussed adding the conditions to the bulk download script didn't we, so that the conditions are displayed when you run the script. Is there anything else we should do?

Indeed we agreed about the bulk data download, I'm not sure if this applies also for these other ways of downloading like the hapi interface and ViresClient. Seiki ( @Kakioka-JMA ) can you give some more explanation on this ?
