AppImage: unable to locate game assets

Where to place the game files? I can't find any documentation on this.
I am not able to play the game with OpenKrush-playtest-20220222-3-x86_64.AppImage.

I installed KkND Xtreme via GoG on Windows, started it once, and then copied the game directory with all files to Linux.
I copied all the game files to ~/.var/app/net.openra.OpenRA/.openra/Content/openkrush_gen1/
When I run the AppImage openkrush loads and starts in fulscreen:

OpenKrush
Unable to locate game assets
The following versions are supported:

• Original CD in Drive
• Digital Installation via Steam or GoG

Please help.

The engine itself builds the path for linux here:

So it should be ~/.config/openra/ Content/openkrush_gen1/
