Cannot parse private key: unsupported key format

Hi, thank you so much for your work on this node.
I'm trying to configure and use it, but I'm not able to let it read the private ssh key.
I copied it from the destination pc (debian machine, key generated via ssh-keygen), and the error in the subject appears.
I tried to convert the private key to ssh2 format, with no success.
Where am I wrong ?

Hello. You can configure the node (algorithms, ciphers, host key formats, etc.)

For my tests, I use the following:
ssh-keygen -t rsa
You should try your key using ssh from the command line

PS: I'm just a user of the ssh2 library...

Hey I'm also running into this. I have tried rsa and ssh-ed25519 as suggested by the ssh2 library. I'm still getting unsupported key format. Is there a more verbose way to log the ssh connections?

@flashbackpa If you are still having issues with this I found that https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-ssh-v2-reconnection works without much hassle.

I am having the same problem. The keys work for SSH and command line sends from Home Assistant. Just not from Node-RED.

As much as I loved BigSSH when I was using it to connect to PI's without incident, but I've spent two days trying different combinations of keytypes and formats, trying to get it to connect to HomeAssistant, but no love. Seems that if I change to anything else than ssh-keygen -t rsa -m PEM BigSSH goes "Error: Cannot parse privateKey: Unsupported key format". Bunch of other weirdness experienced.

I gave https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-ssh-v3 a shot and boom! worked at first attempt, even without keys. Sorry, would love to hang out and debug, but I got other stuff waiting which depends on this.
