SONOFF SNZB-02WD update OTA

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a way to update the firmware on my SONOFF SNZB-02WD. It has a tendency to drop off the network when it's at the edge of the range, and it never reconnects automatically.

The only way to get it back online is to manually press the pairing button. It seems other models had this exact same issue, so it's likely a firmware bug. Since this model is based on the same hardware as the SNZB-02D, does anyone know if it will be added to the Zigbee2MQTT OTA update list soon?

Hi! SONOFF uploads all their firmware updates here: https://zigbee-ota.sonoff.tech/releases/upgrade.json
We just automatically download the updates to this repository.

So contact them and let them know about your issue.
(Your Zigbee routers may also play a role.. Not all are created equal 🙂)

But I'm not sure what the expected behavior is? (You are expected to keep it in Zigbee range)
It also needs to save battery life when it can't reach the network.. not constantly attempt re-connection
Doesn't a ping from Z2M get it back online?

Regarding the behavior: when the radio signal gets a bit weak, the sensor goes into a deep sleep mode (the radio icon disappears) and never reconnects on its own. The only way to wake it up is to pull the battery or use the pairing button. A ping from Z2M doesn't work because the device is completely offline.

I noticed in the release notes for the indoor version of this sensor that a similar issue was fixed recently. I thought a fix had been released for this specific model too, but checking the .json file, it seems I'm already on the latest version available.
