make provision for profile pictures and options of uploading it from a file

Make a small circle in the top-bar which shows your profile picture(smaller in size) and then when u click it expands( in a modal maybe or a popup ) and views your profile id, etc and a button in the popup which allows you to change it and it also shows the profile picture in the search for user option too.
