Disconnected

Hi,

first of all, thank you for your time spent on this API. I've tried multiple API and project to be able do download the activity data from my band which is a MiBand 1s. All my previous attempts have failed when there is too much data. It just hangs.

I've tried this old Obj-C lib: https://github.com/pigigaldi/MiBand-Utility . But now I found this API which hopefully fix my issues.

However, after finding my band and tapping on it, it fails after trying to pair with it. It just gets disconnected. Do you have any ideas?

Some more information. When I use "fitnessDevice.initialize" it will disconnect after setting the user info, but if I set it manually fitnessDevice.setUserInfo.execute it seems to work. That's not enough to get the activity history however.

There are a few actions that will only work if you first set the user information. This has to be done after initialization and only then you will be able to access the history data from the band. I have also experienced the issue you mention, it's like the band crashes and restarts, causing it to disconnect. This has happened to me when there's a lot of data in there, like two weeks worth of data. Weren't you able to get at least a partial dump of the steps data before it crashed?

I built this based on multiple sources of info that I found around in the web, and also based on my experience performing manual tests against the band. I'm afraid I never found out why the band crashes, perhaps it's a bug in the firmware or maybe it expects me to send some other control data that I'm not aware of. Sorry that I can't help you more. If you happen to find a solution please let me know!

Thanks for your quick answer.

I can now connect to the band by changing "addr" in func calculateCRC(data: Data) -> UInt8 to let addr: UInt16 = 0x99. Now the band won't disconnect.

However, when I now try to get the history data (which is my ultimate goal), it will never receive any data in MibandOperationGetHistoryData. Nothing happens. There might be a difference between MiBand1 and MiBand1S, but I've double checked the values for the characteristics and they seem to be the same as I have in a another project:

The problem I have with my other project where I use https://github.com/pigigaldi/MiBand-Utility is that the band hangs when there is too much data. And we're not talking two weeks. It's more like two hours(!)...

could it be the User that is the problem? Is the band doing anything magic with the User ID or something? I know that the UserInfo needs to be set in order for the band to be able to send activity data (FF07).

Ok just to follow up on this. A strange thing that I don't yet understand. I remove .pair and pair the band via the official MiFit band, then I can read the history data. I'll continue to investigate.

I'll keep posting my findings here for future reference.
