Linux Distribution Foundation (LDF)
The DLD Linux project is committed to maintaining a professional, inclusive, and transparent development environment. This Code of Conduct defines expected behavior and responsibilities for everyone participating in the project.
DLD Linux relies on a collaborative and respectful community.
This Code of Conduct ensures that contributors can engage in productive technical work without harassment, disruption, or hostility.
All contributors must follow this policy when participating in project activities.
Participants are expected to:
- Communicate professionally and constructively
- Respect differing technical viewpoints
- Provide and accept feedback courteously
- Work toward solutions that benefit the project as a whole
- Follow maintainers’ decisions once finalized
- Uphold open-source principles, transparency, and integrity
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Personal attacks, insults, or demeaning comments
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
- Disruptive or aggressive behavior
- Sharing private or sensitive information without consent
- Knowingly submitting malicious, harmful, or deceptive contributions
- Hostility toward new contributors
- Attempts to undermine maintainers’ decisions or project governance
As a Linux distribution, DLD Linux requires strict technical discipline. Contributors must:
- Not submit proprietary, closed-source, or license-incompatible code
- Not introduce components that weaken or bypass security practices
- Maintain strict GPL and upstream license compliance
- Avoid unnecessary divergence from upstream
- Provide maintainable, documented, and tested submissions
- Respect upstream trademarks, licenses, and project boundaries
Maintainers are responsible for:
- Reviewing contributions professionally and impartially
- Enforcing this Code of Conduct consistently
- Providing clear, actionable feedback
- Rejecting or reverting contributions that violate this policy
- Taking action when necessary, including suspending or removing contributors
Until a formal contact method is established, contributors may:
- Open a private GitHub issue requesting confidential communication
- Contact an LDF maintainer directly through GitHub if appropriate
Reports will be handled as discreetly as possible within GitHub’s capabilities.
Violations may result in:
- A warning
- Rejection or removal of contributions
- Temporary or permanent suspension from participation
- Removal from the LDF GitHub organization in severe cases
Enforcement decisions are made by the DLD Linux maintainers.
This Code of Conduct applies to all DLD Linux project spaces, including:
- GitHub repositories
- Issues
- Pull requests and reviews
- Discussions
- Documentation
- Any project-associated community spaces
The Linux Distribution Foundation may update this Code of Conduct as needed.
All updates will be published in this repository.
