Open a member from a group

Hi,

I was searching for a new tool to navigate my ldap and found yours.
Thanks a lot, it's really usefull.

I have a question/request, I manage everything with groups in my ldap.
With godap, I'm able to open a group, and see all members into the attribute panel, but from here, i'm not able to "open" a member to see his attributes (like generating a search to pass the member Attribute into the Explorer panel with I press enter on a specific member) .
Is this feature part of godap ?

Thanks for the suggestion @azlux! That's not a feature yet. The Search page could benefit from some sort of keybinding to "open" a member of a group - despite being an "ad-hoc" idea, I think it would be a great addition to the navigation flow, although I don't know exactly how that would work - maybe we can display a centralized modal showing the object's attributes? Maybe we just pivot to perform a new search with the filter (distinguishedName=X)? I'll think about that in the following days and leave the issue open until we can have a better idea.

As a workaround, for now we can make this aspect better by having a keybinding to copy attribute values (and other types of data) into the clipboard - then it would be easy to navigate through members of groups by copying and pasting DNs into the Search page for instance. This is a relatively simple feature that I plan on implementing next in godap.

It's depend if you want to navigate to the member, or just see his attributes.
The main difference is: If you navigate to it with a new search, you're not able to easily go back to the group.

Both are good to me, but the new search is the faster/less buggy to implement.

Based on that I'm inclined to think that the modal in the center showing just the chosen member's attributes would be a nice way of improving this flow. That way you could use Esc or click on a Go Back button to come back to the main navigation. It could work in either the Search or Explorer pages. I'll see if I can find some time to write a PoC for that in a separate branch in a couple days and will get back to you then so we can validate it.
