No bluetooth device in local connection method

I tried using the new local connection method with my iPhone and iPad, but after connecting my Zwift Ride, no Bluetooth device „Bike Control“ appears in my iPad's Bluetooth settings.

Do you mean "pairing mode", presumably the keyboard one?

I've heard it from another user as well, and will try to understand what's different between your configuration and mine during testing

Yes, only the Zwift ride appears in the list of Bluetooth devices, but nothing else.
Disconnecting other devices from my iPhone, such as my Garmin, did not help either.

I had now found a workaround. I tried using the beta method "Act as Bluetooth mouse" and noticed that my iPhone was already paired in the pointer device settings. After unpairing it, Bike Control appeared in the general Bluetooth settings.
However, I then had the problem that pressing the buttons on the Zwift Ride did nothing on MyWhoosh.

Yes I recognize it seems to not work for everyone. Can you try unpairing again, then doing the "Act as keyboard" again, instead of the Bluetooth mouse?

Then check if it works generally, but selecting a text field on your iPad and attempting to shift. It should generate K or I in that field, just like a keyboard would

I was able to partially reproduce this, so for clarification:

Did you get the "Pairing requested" dialog on your iPhone AND iPad? At one point I only received it on the iPhone, and then it can't work.

I had the "connection works, pairing works, but no characters are sent" issue once, but was able to fix it by unselecting the Bluetooth Keyboard connection method in BikeControl, and enabling it again. Can you try that?

I also had the "iPhone does not appear in iPad Bluetooth settings" also once, but fixed it by restarting Bluetooth on the iPad. The Bluetooth stack on iPad seems to be very buggy.

I have both pairing messages on iPhone and iPad.
IPhone is paired, seeable on the iPad.
I find myself in the second issue « everything works (connection, pairing, bike control bluetooth as a keyboard active and stable in actuve mode » but no character is sent. I tried several times to click / unclick the option and it did not solve the issue. I restarted everything from scratch, but not solved the issue unfortunately.

FYI, and if it can help, I tried on my macbook air, pairing works, but it seems that I have to click on a specific button on the external keyboard I try to connect (first button next to the Maj on the left) to make it work and recognised by the computer, which I was not able to do with the controllers. I guess this hindered the connection.

I have the same issue with my iPad and iPhone: there's no Bikecontrol entry in the iPad's Bluetooth menu, so there is nothing to connect. I would like to use it with Rouvy, but nothing works. I've tried restarting everything many times. I also tried the same beta version workaround—"Act as Bluetooth mouse"—and got the same result as jonasbark got. Any advice on how to solve this? I have OS 26.3 on both devices.

I assume your devices aren't already paired? It must also not necessarily be named "BikeControl" but can also be "xxx iPhone" or similar, depending on your devices name

Rouvy will support a better connection method, soon - I'm working with Rouvy on that

No, they are not, though. As you say, my devices' names are simply iPad and iPhone, and both of them appear as such on the other devices. Yet, none of them pair; if I tap on "pair," I only get a message that pairing is unsuccessful.

Now that is valuable information - although I don't know why pairing would fail. Sounds like an iOS bug. Can you try restarting BikeControl then, and disable "act as keyboard" and enable it again, and then try to pair it with your other iOS device?
