Zwift Click 2 connection failure

I'm following the guidance to connect this controller to Zwift first, then close Zwift and launch Bikecontrol. However, whenever I close Zwift after connecting the trainer and Click 2 controller (I've tried intervals from immediate to 5 minutes after connecting) the Click 2 disconnects (blue lights resume flashing). Launching Bikecontrol, it finds the Click 2, but the message is that it's locked.

My setup:

Wahoo Kickr Core 2, connected by Bluetooth to:
Samsung S10 running Android 12
Bikecontrol and Zwift are both running on this device.

Since buying Bikecontrol a few days ago, I've managed to get the Click 2 to operate gearing on Whoosh twice, but connection success has been rare, and I can't see any logic to why it has worked occasionally but not now.

The recommended approach is to unlock it by clicking the unlock button within BikeControl. If that fails you can try unlocking with the manual method, like you did.

Thanks for your quick response. I did try that, but the Click2 remains locked - as confirmed by launching MyWhoosh and failing to change the virtual gear number from the Click2.

Please click a button while BikeControl is in the foreground. You should be able to see the button presses on the lower right corner. If you don't, it seems your Click V2 is still not unlocked correctly and you need to try again. Needless to say this is not the standard - usually you should be able to unlock it just fine.

If you see the button clicks then the issue is elsewhere - let me know

Thanks again. But a problem arises before that point. BikeControl does not reliably appear in the list of connectable devices. When it does appear (see screenshot) it can't be selected - the select button clears as soon as I release my finger. I take the precaution of force closing both Zwift and BikeControl between attempts to connect.

If it does not, you might be able to check the Logs from Zwift about any network issues. If that's too much you can still rely on unlocking it manually

Image was attached to the email but didn't reach you. Now added here. Will try again and let you know, but not optimistic about the manual method as that wasn't unlocking the Click2. Thanks for your efforts with Click2.
