Request for admin permission to the CTranslate2 project

Hello everybody

There has been no commit activity on new releases on the last 6 months.

I would like to request for admin permission to the CTranslate2 with the goal of been able to do releases at least for maintenance proposes.

Regarding my experience I do maintain a few python packages and I have C++ experience. I have limited spare time to contribute and it will be based on best effort.

We have been discussed this within the faster-whisper project (SYSTRAN/faster-whisper#1378) since CTranslate2 is a core dependency to us.

I would be happy if more people can join this effort and help this to move forward.

@jordimas There was already a ticket #1906 and a PR on that #1905 fixing the issue. How come you did not leave a comment there (or refer to them)? 😒 😕

Hello. I was unaware of this work and I did not see it sorry. I scan the PR some days ago I did not see. As you can imagine, I am not excited to duplicate somebody else work (I invested 1 day in this).

You volunteered to be the new admin, this is your job. You even "fixed" the CMake warnings correct? 😠 There is also a ticket and a PR for that as well #1899 #1907

Yes, I fixed everything that I saw in the build that was not working.
As I said, I apologize for this and I will try to be more careful in the future.

I was looking at Managing PyPI project size limit. Before trying to publish in new version on the next days, I checked the space used in PyPI and it says:

Total size of all ctranslate2 versions: 21084.50 MB

I requested more space to PyPi, but I do not if this will be accepted, and if does, it may take some time.

Short term, will be possible to remove some old CTranslate2 from PyPI to make sure that there is enough space to publish 4-5 new releases?
