Add layer creates entangled copy

Description
Creating a new layer creates a layer in the view that's linked to another layer. It's a duplicate, but a reference to the original layer.

To Reproduce
Use the "Add New Layer" button in the Layers pane.

Additional Info

Here you can see two "Original" layers. They have the same name because I changed the second, new layer, and the first layer changed as well.
