Backups are not made more frequently than 20 minutes

There's common confusion about why VSS only makes save backups every 20 minutes even when "Minutes between backups" is set to 10 (or another number less than 20). That setting determines the minimum amount of time that must pass before a backup of new save data is made. However, the game only saves every 20 minutes and there's nothing new to back up in the next 20 minutes until a new save is made.

The advantage of setting this number lower than 20 minutes is that you can be sure that when the game does save, it will be time for a new backup.
