Drag & Drop in subfolders menu broken - MacOS Tahoe 26.4

Drag mail from InBox to a Tabbed folder not working with TB 149.0.1 (aarch64) on MacOS Tahoe 26.4 (25E246) and Quickfolders 6.15.1.

When I drag the email onto the tab, the list of email subfolders opens but the email dragging is lost.

I have got the same problem since a few days. I have macOs Sequoia 15.7.5 and the same version mentioned above of TB 149.0.1 and Quickfolders 6.15.1 and it is driving me crazy!! I have a licence key which is valid till 31-8-2026.
I also installed thunderbird and quickfolders on an other laptop with other macOS, same problem!

This sounds like it was introduced by a changed implementation in the rendering of system generated menus on the latest mac versions see also #658. If it breaks drag + drop to this extent it may need fixing on the platform side (Thunderbird). however you can help by generating a debug log:

The best way to harvest the results is by copying the complete contents of the window after the test and then putting it into a plain text file which you can attach to your comments here/

Are there any exceptions when the drop happens?

typical expected output would be something like the below - note the message starting with

is that there or missing? Somehow popups seem to react differently now in MacOS. I have no way testing this here as I only have an iPad from that ecosystem. For really debugging this I would need access to your machine, maybe a Zoom session to dig deeper.

Sure. in the meantime I made a version that puts in a delay before showing the menu (it uses a timer for this, which is also reset while you move the mouse). it's default is set to 250ms (1/4 of a second).

QuickFolders-mx-6.15.2pre15.zip

you can increase the timer through Thunderbird settings >> General >> Config editor (button at the bottom right).

Then insert this into the search box:

extensions.quickfolders.drag.

Here is another version, maybe something prevents the drop on Mac because we did not call event.preventDefault() during the dragOver event, see MDN

We use three event handlers here:

• in the dragstart event handler, we get a reference to the element that the user dragged
• in the dragover event handler for the target container, we call event.preventDefault(), which enables it to receive drop events.
• in the drop event handler for the drop zone, we handle moving the draggable element from the original container to the drop zone.

one theory is that Mac now enforces this more [no drop event without preventDefault (?)].

I tried version [6.15.2pre15.zip] from this github site, and increased the timer to 500ms, but it didn't work.
I tried version [6.15.2pre16.zip] from this github as well. But the problem remains.
(I imported both files the way you described)
You can only drag a mail to the highest level (folder). But as soon as you move to a subfolder, you shift to that folder instead of the email is being draged to that subfolder.
