Closing per locked decision in docs/DECISION_LOG.md (2026-05-22 row, GHSA-vfmq-68hx-4jfw):

The hosted Splunk AppInspect API is still on 4.2.0 (verified live 2026-05-22):

Per docs/RUNBOOKS.md §"AppInspect API — Credential Setup": the local pin in .github/workflows/appinspect.yml MUST match the hosted API's reported appinspect_version so that Phase 1.6 dynamic findings stay comparable to the Phase 1.3 local baseline. Bumping to 4.2.1 while hosted stays on 4.2.0 would drift the two report streams.

Also: 4.2.1 still pins lxml<6.0.0,>=5.3.0 (same constraint as 4.2.0) — so this bump does NOT help with the lxml CVE either. That risk is already handled via the pip-audit --ignore-vuln GHSA-vfmq-68hx-4jfw carve-out (commit b14b3c9).

Re-evaluation trigger: when https://appinspect.splunk.com/v1/info returns a version ≥4.2.1. At that point the pin should match again.
