If you want to capture very slow processes with your oscilloscope you don't need Python for this.
Download the powerful and comfortable open source Oszi Waveform Analyzer and use the DC Capture feature.

The DC capture allows to capture processes that take hours or even days.
You can abort the capture whenever you like.
While a DC capture is in progress Oszi Waveform Analyzer prevents that the computer goes to sleep.

Here you see charging a 9 Volt battery over 1 hour.

Apart from that Oszi Waveform Analyzer has hundreds of more useful features for your oscilloscope.
