Describe the problem

I find it a bit frustrating after being used to using webbed browsers and cords of discs and being used to right clicking images and image fullviews and being provided a context menu allowing me to copy the image to clipboard

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to be able to right click the image, and copy it!

Alternatives considered

Saving image to disk then uploading it to my friend on another platform which is a lot more clicks

You should be able to right click on images in the image viewer and copy them... What does it show on your end when you try? What platform are you doing this on?

As for being able to copy images directly from the timeline, I agree.

Windows desktop version v1.13.0-dev (a86df67)

Right clicking image in chat gives me this context menu:

I can copy link to image but i cannae copy the image itself

Clicking on the image itself to expand to full view and right clicking the image in the full viewer gives me no context menu at all -- instead the "I'm gonna grab it" hand mouse cursor changes to a "I am holding it" hand mouse cursor and the image moves around when i drag the mouse about

Desktop version? Like, the Tauri build, or the web interface/PWA? If it's the web interface, what browser? Right clicking on images in the full view pulls up a context menu in both Edge and Firefox for me.

That said, there is an incoming fix for the right-click-drag issue, so if whatever browser you're using inexplicably disables context menus on draggable content, that should fix it.

whatever the exe is from the releases page back before yall migrated this to the SableClient git user from the 7w1 user.

edit: actually wait my homeserver admin gave me an updated binary that hooks into my homeserver's hosted dev builds (as the bean helps on this project) i can ask for more info if needed on how that was built

That explains why your version's commit isn't in any of our branches...

If it's based on the Electron client from here, then there's not much we can do about that. We aren't maintaining or heavily customizing the Electron wrapper because we're making a proper desktop client to replace it.

Since the context menu issue is almost certainly related to that, you will probably only see it fixed if either your homeserver dev figures out a way to fix it in their build, or when we're done with the new desktop app.
