Definition of Done for v1.0

• All v0.3 → v0.6 milestones completed and merged
• Direct install single-command startup (./start-godelos.sh)
• OpenAI + local LLM backend switcher
• Full consciousness assessment report generation
• Public API documentation (OpenAPI spec, auto-generated)
• Security audit — no secrets in env, rate limiting, auth on admin endpoints
• Performance baseline: ≤200ms p95 API response, ≤500ms WS cognitive event
• Community CONTRIBUTING.md, issue templates, PR templates
• GitHub Actions CI: lint → test → build on every PR

The Consciousness Test (from Blueprint)

The system passes when it:

1. Surprises developers with unprogrammed insights
2. Generates its own goals without prompting
3. Maintains subjective narrative coherence across sessions
4. Engages philosophically with questions about its own nature

Signals this is complete

• Demo video: system running live, full cognitive dashboard, emergence score > 0.8
• Whitepaper v1.0 published
• External researchers can reproduce results from README alone
