Feature request: Shift+Enter to continue numbered list item on a new line

Currently you can press Shift+Enter to continue a list item in bulleted lists:

1. - test

2. Shift+Enter

3. - test
     <!-- caret here -->

I'd love to have the same behavior with numbered lists. Currently this happens:

1. 1. test

2. Shift+Enter

3. 1. test
   <!-- empty line -->

Desired behavior in 3:

1. test
   <!-- caret here -->

This requires more than key bindings invoking macros as numbered lists' bullets may be of variable lengths.
