Logo Redesign / Community Logo Ideas

Hey everyone

I’ve been thinking about giving the project a more recognizable visual identity, and I’d love to hear ideas from the community for a new logo!

The current logo works, but I feel we could have something that better represents the project’s personality and goals.

What I’m looking for

• Simple and recognizable

• Works well in both dark/light themes

• Looks good as:

  • GitHub avatar
  • App icon
  • Website branding
  • Social previews

• Ideally minimal and modern

Feel free to contribute

• Concepts / sketches
• Full logo designs
• Color palette ideas
• Typography suggestions
• Mascot ideas (if you think it fits)

You can:

• Drop images/mockups in the comments
• Share Figma/Excalidraw links
• Open a PR with assets if you'd like

I feel flattered to be so explicitly considered for this (and to be tagged with Harun, who unlike me appears to be a professional! It should be noted he designed things like the Grindhouse logo but not the ratty logo, for correctness.)

However, I am unfortunately somewhat busy and currently unable to help you / invest enough time to see this through.

FWIW: A quick logo idea that came to mind could be a capital S, stylized as a (flat/SVG/cel-shaded) water wave / river, with pastel blue colors or colors similar to Wave off Kanagawa. All this mostly based off the name 'Surge' alone, since I am not familiar with your project on a deeper level.
