Describe the bug
Resyncing a libary of alac files invariably results in new transcoding majority of files, even when alac files in pc library are unchanged.
iPod model
Ipod Mini 2nd Gen 128gb
To reproduce
- Set ipod to prefer compressed audio files
- Resync ipod library, having added a couple of songs or tweaked metadata tags externally
- Sync will result in it having to resync and retranscode the majority of the library
Expected behavior
I expect it to purely update metadata or add songs instead of going through full process. This occurs with any form of sync to the ipod, including selective sync. It invariably claims that a greater number of files were changed than the reality, resulting in syncing often taking as long as an hour after changing the metadata on perhaps a dozen songs in the 3000 song library.
Environment
- OS: Windows 11
- Python version: 3.13
- iOpenPod version/commit: 1.0.53
