Avoiding the creation of a default "modified" resource

Is there a way to initialize the wrapper without a file? By default it creates a default-uri-modified-${this.id} or uses the config.codeResources, but I would like to initialize it without any files, is this possible?

The reason I'm asking is that I've built a FileSystemProvider that queries a remote file server, I don't want to write a default-uri-modified-${this.id} file and I cannot know for sure which files will exist.

Hi @wfortin as soon as you create a monaco-editor it internally initializes a model even if not text is shown. Some time ago we took the decision to create a uri, so we can either provide it via codeResources or via the default uri, so we know what the uri is. In your case, can you create the editor after the Remote FS init?

Yes it seems that's what I'll have to do, I was hoping to be able to initialize the editor first as we spin up the remote pod to increase the perceived performance.

@wfortin is it possible to init monaco-editor with a valid temp uri referring to file with no content and use updateCode or updateCodeResources once the real files are available?
