I can't stop a link from embedding.

< > brackets around the link to stop it from embedding
Describe alternatives you've considered
I've tried manually removing the embed but the X to close it disappears when not hovered directly over the embed and some cannot be removed with double click, they typically come back after refresh/reload anyways
