Some username colors are very low-contrast with the background, and need to be tweaked to show up well:
- The background color needs to be controlled by the overlay, or at least known to it, so it knows what to contrast the usernames with.
- The foreground needs to be lightened or darkened.
I've locally added code to perform #\2, but only to lighten it, and assumes the background is black.
