[feat] A main homepage for Zennotes.

A homepage that looks like Notion, some way to clearly see what's going on in my notes, and a way to "see" the task and specific daily notes or top made notes on a dedicated canvas. This would look like the depreciated full page Home view on Notion that looks something like this image below

I am willing to know if implementing this would be possible or not and whether or not it aligns with the core principles of the app.

PS: I was using Notion and then switched to Obsidian and have enjoyed it ever since and for a long 4 months it was nice. But in the start of June 2026, I have been experiencing annoying issues and slow startup times on Obsidian and I have decided to hunt for a better alternative and somehow I have landed on Zennotes. The perfect app for me. Period. Great work. The only feature that is lacking in my eyes is this central panel rather than a bland screen as shown below. And as it's made using Electron and frontend tech, I think it would not be too hard to work on.

Shipping a first version of this in v2.8.0 🎉

When no note is open (outside Zen mode), ZenNotes now lands you on a light home view instead of a blank pane:

• Quick-create actions — new note, database, drawing, plus daily/weekly notes when those are enabled in Settings.
• Recent — your most recently edited notes, with relative timestamps.
• Today — your open tasks with an overdue count; tick a checkbox to complete one in place.

Everything opens on click, and it's keyboard-navigable (↑/↓ — or j/k in Vim mode — then Enter), in keeping with the app's keyboard-first design. It deliberately stays minimal and gets out of the way in Zen mode.

This is intentionally a lighter take than the full Notion-style canvas in your mockup — a calm starting point rather than a configurable dashboard — but it's a foundation we can build on. If there's a specific widget you'd want next (pinned notes, a calendar, etc.), open a follow-up and we'll consider it.

This project that you are building have replaced Obsidian for me. I found this one from your launch video, and I am so happy u are so responsive. This is one of those projects that I want to actively work on, I have started learning JS/TS and some front-end dev work to hop into this project, as you just being the only contributor seems like a lot of work to me, and I wanna actively build and maintain something good, something that I am willing to use everyday.

Now, on the homepage like feature → it's very easy to overdo it. Please try to scope it up properly. I am very much happy with your take on it. I appreciate your efforts.
