When the icon is hidden in the menu bar, all notifications—including the volume control window—appear on the left side of the screen. Is there a way to have the volume control window appear on the right side instead? Is it also possible to adjust the transparency of this window? On macOS Tahoe, it’s completely black, whereas the system’s version is transparent and not as intrusive. I’m using newest Volume-Control but this behavior was present in previous versions as well

Can you explain better what you mean by:

There are many ways to hide icons in the menu bar. The simplest is that you choose "Hide menu bar icon" that is provided in the contextual menu. When you choose this option, I believe the on-screen display (OSD) showing the volume should be correctly placed on the right. [If the icon is available in the menu bar, the OSD appears below the icon to reproduce the same behavior as macOS.]

However, some people use apps like https://github.com/dwarvesf/hidden to hide all menubar icons. Are you doing something like this? If so, then I would understand why the position is wrong and can fix it.

But what do you mean by "all notifications" ? I can only fix volume notifications. I cannot fix other apps showing notifications in the wrong place.

Regarding the background color, I had a long discussion with the developer of BetterDisplay. The problem is that after many hours of tweaking the settings, I was unable to reproduce among the myriad of undocumented customizations the same look as that of macOS. I so much welcome someone who can give me the right tip on how to choose the right parameters.

I am not sure why. GitHub allows people to drag pictures directly into the issue page when you file it.

But from your picture, it seems you are using one of those apps completely hiding all icons. I can test it to see how to fix it.

ahh sorry, I just realized I’m using Ice (https://icemenubar.app) to hide menu bar icons. It doesn’t happen when this app is closed. Volume Slider shows on the right side. When Ice is active and Volume Contrul icon is hidden from the menu bar, the slider shows on the left side of the screen (like on the screenshot). Sorry for confusion
