What the different between publish and release?

publish command creates a remote branch and pushes the current feature or release to that remote branch.

This is required if multiple people are developing with same feature or your not finished feature is required for another feature development.

If the purpose of the publish command is only to sync the local feature/release branches to remote, you could technically just push the feature/release branch you're on directly to the server using VSCode native git extension sync/push action without requiring the this extension.

Unless I'm absolutely mistaken, this is very low hanging fruit.
