Change swipe to dismiss direction

Is there a way to change swipe to dismiss direction from top to right or left?

Just curious what the use case for this is? Currently there is no way to change the swipe direction but there is the possibility to do so.

It feals more natural to dismiss notifications from left to right. Like in react web's module React-Toastify (https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-toastify)
