How to add snippets into yaml file in VS code

I am new to both VS code and AWS Cloud Formation. Could you let me know how to use your extension ? After adding the extension how do I add the Snippets to Yaml file?

Hi @tkumark, sure. All you need is to use the VSCodes Intellisense feature.
You only have to create a new file with .yaml file extension or setting the language server for this file to yaml.
After that you hit + to see that intellisense will offer you some of the snippet provided by this extension.
I hope that helps to get started. I would recommend to first use !AWSTemplate Snippet to get a AWS CloudFormation template structure in you newly created file.

@tkumark you need to ensure you have installed the YAML support from marketplace. (I use redhat version)
VSCode doesn't provide it by default as is aimed at application deverlopers.
Once that is enabled you should just be able to start typing and IntelliSense will pick up and give you options.
