So, there's a few moving pieces in your enhancement request. scwrapper works by emulating gamepads with uinput. The emulated gamepads show up as evdev devices. Games then read events from those evdev devices. XInput and DInput are proprietary to Windows. However, Wine/Proton implements both APIs so controllers work in Windows games. As far as I know, Wine/Proton does this by translating evdev devices into DInput/XInput devices.

Ultimately, we need to "trick" Wine/Proton into thinking that an XInput compatible device is connected. I have been working on changes that allow scwrapper to do just that (it's not quite ready for release yet). If you can build scwrapper on your own, checkout the BNP_implement-config branch and use the attached configuration:

I've tried this on a few games that support XInput, and it seems to work properly.
