So this isn't really a problem... but more of a preference.
So the preference I have is to sort by title alphabetically, the reason for this, is when viewing the full catalog and scrolling, its much easier to locate a particular piece of content when its in alphabetical order.
Example: Scroll to letter "G" and see all movies/series that start with "G". Another example is a stand-up comedy catalog, much easier to locate the preferred comic by name when the titles are in alphabetical order...
However, the problem with this, is that the home page, is then also sorted alphabetically. Thus you always see the same content on the home page every-time it's loaded...
So the ask would be, which may not be possible due to client limitations, is to have a secondary sort function that works only for the home page. That way the home page could be sorted by "Release Date", and then when you view the entire catalog, it could be sorted alphabetically.
This way the home page can present fresh and new information every-time its viewed, while allowing the full catalog to be sorted alphabetically.
Describe the solution you'd like
Add a secondary catalog sort option that applies to only the home page.
This would allow the home page to be sorted by "release date" or "popularity" while allowing the catalog page to have a different sorting method, such as alphabetically.
Describe alternatives you've considered
None
