Hi all,
I'm not sure about you guys, but for the Module 2 reading, I'm having a really hard time understanding:
a.) The notation
b.) the meaning of the equations we are getting (specifically 8.5, 8.13, and 8.21)
My understanding for equation 8.5 is that we are tracking the velocity of a point on a spinning object in 2D(?), and that this applies to irregularly shaped objects, not just circular objects.
My understanding for equation 8.13 (the transport eqn) is dealing with inertial velocity. We have Definition 8.1, but I'm not entirely sure how we are looking at inertial velocity-- is it a point on an object but with respect to what location?
I do not understand equation 8.21 at all.
I have tried asking A.I. but it still isn't clicking for me. I don't know if anyone reads these posts, but if you understand what any of the equations mean in "layman's terms," it would be super helpful if you could put your understanding in the comments here (I assume other people probably have similar questions).
Thanks,
David
